Kim Rosenberg of Rosenbaum Financial will be hosting a private event at Consigning Women for her group, Smart Women. This group is comprised of Portland-area professionals with various backgrounds who meet periodically to share in their expertise, to learn about financial planning strategies, how to support other women entrepreneurs and generally, just to have a good time with each other. It is a chance for them to do something for themselves without the distraction of home and work responsibilities. Consigning Women is proud to host this group of cents-savvy women! As some of you may know, Gucci Stilettos of Canterbury (a.k.a. “Gucci”), our beloved Shop Dog, had a terrible health scare last July. The skillful surgeons at Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin literally saved her life. We are so grateful for the incredible care she received. What’s also impressive is that the EVCOT has a Good Samaritan Fund that helps owners who may not be able to afford emergency care for their furry loved ones. Consigning Women would like to show our appreciation to the good people at EVCOT by inviting you to join us this Saturday for Gucci’s first birthday, where 10% of all purchases made will be donated to the Good Samaritan Fund. Enjoy cocktails and refreshments while you shop our new spring-filled racks of resale. We also invite you to bring your well-behaved canines companions for free all-natural doggie biscuits. Consigning Women feels that as a small business that is supported by our local community, it is important for us to be able to give back. Aside from making donations to 3 other Portland-area charities, Consigning Women also contributes to Abby’s Closet. Abby’s Closet was founded in 2004 by a young woman and her mother who discovered a need in the community to provide prom dresses to other young women. These young women in need couldn’t afford to purchase them on their own. Through the hard work and efforts of Abby’s Closet over the years, and as word spread, they have collected over 7,000 gowns this year alone and recently held an event at the Oregon Convention Center where they gave away prom dresses and gowns for special events. This charity is in synch with Consigning Women’s values: support other women, reduce environmental waste, and provide to those in need. Stay tuned in the coming months as we kick off a series of benefit events, one of which will feature Abby’s Closet! We hope our contributions to Abby’s Closet will also contribute to the dreams of young girls in our community! ..
